Galaxy Bosses

Galaxy Bosses are massive cooperative encounters that rally the whole galaxy against a single threat. Everyone, from day-one explorers to veteran captains, can participate, deal damage, and share the rewards.

When do they spawn?

Galaxy Bosses spawn four times a day on a fixed UTC schedule: 00:00, 06:00, 12:00, 18:00. You can always see the countdown to the next one on the Worker Timers widget on the sidebar.

When a Boss spawns, a global chat announcement goes out in Main and a Discord DM is sent to every player who opted in to the galaxyBossSpawning notification.

The join window

Once a Boss spawns, a 15 minute recruitment window opens before the fight begins. During this window:

  • The sidebar shows a yellow blinking badge on the Galaxy Bosses icon.
  • The Battle tab displays the system coordinates, the Boss's damage-type weakness, and how many captains have already joined.
  • You can open the Galaxy map and travel to the Boss's system for a reward bonus (see below).

When the window closes the fight begins. No late joins allowed.

Who participates?

There are two ways to enter a fight:

  • Premium / VIP auto-join: if you have an active premium subscription and are within your offline-actions window (i.e. you've logged in within the last 72 hours) at the moment the Boss spawns, you are automatically added to the fight. You can check the Battle tab and see yourself already listed as joined.
  • Manual join: every other captain can click the Join button during the 15 minute window. You need to be within your offline-actions window (logged in within the last 24 hours) at the moment of clicking; after that you do not need to stay active during the fight itself.

No level, tech or skill requirements: anyone can participate from day one.

How the fight works

During the fight you see a live combat simulation playing out round by round. Your damage output depends on your gear, catalysts, tech boosts, dragon pet and Galaxy Boss skill tree.

Key rules:

  • Round duration: 6 seconds.
  • Max rounds: 100 (10 minutes). If the fight runs out of time the Boss escapes.
  • Single Boss, infinite tiers: when the Boss dies, a stronger version (Tier N+1) spawns immediately and overflow damage carries over. Tiers keep escalating until the fight ends.
  • Revive cooldown: if you die, you sit out 3 rounds before reviving with 1 hit of damage. You can reduce this cooldown through the skill tree.
  • Weakness: each fight has a random damage-type weakness (Energy, Kinetic, Electromagnetic, Explosive, Incendiary, Chemical). Your weapon and shield bonuses that match the weakness deal extra damage.

In-system bonus

If you are not physically in the same system as the Boss at the moment the fight begins, your reward is 90%. Travel there during the join window to get the 100% reward value.

Rewards

Every participant earns rewards based on their contribution:

  • Galaxy Fragments: the currency you spend on the Galaxy Boss skill tree. Your personal share is proportional to the damage you dealt relative to the total damage of the event, up to a base cap of 200 fragments per event. Anything above the cap is redistributed among the participants who did not reach it. The cap is raised by the Currency bonus skill tree node and the Reward boost tech, up to a maximum of 460 fragments per event.
  • Credits and Cosmic Dust: individual payouts scaled by your damage share of the fight.
  • Global boost time: granted to the entire playerbase once the fight ends, scaled to the final tier reached. Every player benefits, even those who didn't join.

Progression

There are two layers of Galaxy Boss progression:

Skill tree (Galaxy Fragments)

The Galaxy Bosses tab has a dedicated skill tree with 11 nodes across three branches (Offense / Defense / Utility). All ranks apply only during Galaxy Boss fights. Spend Galaxy Fragments you earned from participation to buy ranks. You can reset the tree anytime with a full 100% fragment refund.

Technology

Three additional tech tree boosts in the Technology page apply permanently to every Galaxy Boss fight:

  • Damage boost: +1% damage vs Galaxy Bosses per level
  • Defense boost: increases your Galaxy Boss defense by 1% per level. It multiplies the defense you already get from catalysts and the skill tree, so it needs some defense to build on
  • Reward boost: increases the rewards you earn from Galaxy Bosses

These stack multiplicatively with the skill tree ranks.

Achievements

Three dedicated achievement tracks rack up every time you participate in a fight, each with five tiers of increasing difficulty:

  • Galaxy Warden: number of Galaxy Boss events participated in
  • Fragment Collector: total Galaxy Fragments earned across all events
  • Galactic Devastator: total damage dealt to Galaxy Bosses over your career

These are lifetime stats: they never reset. Check the Achievements page under the Galaxy Bosses category for progress on each tier.

Discord notifications

Enable Galaxy Bosses spawn in your Discord preferences to get a direct message 15 minutes before the fight starts, so you have time to travel to the Boss's system for the in-system reward bonus.

TL;DR

  • Four fights a day at fixed UTC hours.
  • 15 min join window, then 10 min fight cap.
  • Premium = auto-join, everyone else = manual Join button.
  • Travel to the Boss's system for extra reward weight.
  • Earn Galaxy Fragments, Credits and Cosmic Dust → spend Fragments on the skill tree for better Galaxy Boss performance.
  • Top-tier kills reward every player on the server with global boost time.
