Battling
Why defeat enemies
Defeating enemies gives you credits, the main currency, and also gives you a chance of obtaining items and materials.
Dropped items can be:
- Equipment for Your Ship
- Blueprints to craft powerful items for Your Ship
- Materials Used at the Laboratory or Crafting
- Catalysts, which can be attached to your gear for powerful bonuses. See Catalysts
- Anything you can Trade at the Market

How battling works

Choose one enemy from the list, check your winrate at different levels and, whenever you are happy with the results, click on “Start battling”.
Your clones will start battling the selected enemy type and you will see status information on the central panel.
- Each battle action takes 60 seconds
- Your clones' basic stats are the same as your ship stats
- Upgrade your clones to obtain extra benefits
- XP and credits from enemies are tied to the NPC level
Buy more clones and upgrade them with credits in order to improve your battling. Clones
Checking your winrate
Each enemy card gives you two tools to work out what you can farm:
- Simulate runs 20,000 battles against that enemy at the selected level and shows the resulting winrate. Available to every captain.
- Find optimal build searches for the stat distribution that maximises the NPC level you can farm at a 98% or higher winrate, assuming your Squadron building bonuses are active. This one requires an active premium subscription, which also gives you unlimited stat resets to apply the result.
Remember
Your clones stay attached to the system where you started them. If you travel somewhere else, they keep fighting back there, so you can explore the galaxy without interrupting your farming. To move them, start battling again from your new system.
Droids work the same way when gathering.
Squadron bonuses
If you belong to a Squadron, the Barracks boost your combat performance against NPCs and the Amplifier adds +2% credits per building level.
Systems claimed by another squadron block both
If the system you are battling in is claimed by any other squadron, you lose the Barracks battling boost and the Amplifier credit boost for every fight there.
Reputation and your squadron's dungeon bonus are not affected. The same rule applies to Gathering.
Check who claimed the system before leaving your clones there: the winrate you simulated with your buildings active will not hold inside another squadron's territory.
TL;DR:
- Farm the highest enemy level you can hold at around a 98% winrate.
- Check which equipment you need most before selecting an enemy.
- Enemies have weaknesses, and you can craft equipment and select different types of damage according to them.
- Each enemy has a unique material drop.
- Avoid farming in systems claimed by another squadron: it cancels your Barracks and Amplifier bonuses.
