Galaxy Power
Space stations can be upgraded from the Galaxy Power tab on your Squadron page. Upgrades extend the station range and improve what your squadron gets while exploring inside that range.
How to build your first Space Station
- Produce the four parts. Each of the four Stellar Dock buildings makes one of them out of the taxes it collects: Hull Parts (Workshop), Control Systems (AI), Ambient Systems (Bioscience) and Propulsion Systems (Engineering). Unlocking a building, setting its tax and filling its bars is all covered in Buildings.
- Build the station. Open the Galaxy Power tab and press Build Space Station. It spends one part of each of the four types, plus 100k of dark matter, silicon, cobalt and argon from the squadron bank, and asks for a name. The new station is listed as Ready to deploy.
- Claim a system with it. Warp to the system you want, open its info panel and press Claim for (your squadron). Pick the station from the list and pay 100m credits and 100k cosmic dust. The station parks there and the system becomes your squadron's.
Starter systems, and systems already claimed by another squadron, cannot be claimed. Building stations and claiming systems needs the leader, or a rank with the Power permission.
What a parked station gives the squadron
Every station your squadron has parked on a system adds 5% to the credits and resources its members earn, and 5% to their battling and gathering XP. That part is not tied to the system: it applies to every member wherever they are playing, and it adds up station by station.
Inside the claimed system itself, members also get better drop quality, and rival squadrons lose their Barracks and Amplifier bonuses while they are in it.
Cost scaling
Space Station parts, Space Stations and system claims all follow the same curve: cost = base cost x N ^ 1.6.
N is counted separately for each one: the level of that dock building for a part, the stations your squadron already owns for a station, and the systems it already holds for a claim. The 2nd one costs around 3x the 1st and the 3rd around 5.8x, so every extra station is a bigger project than the one before.
Station upgrades

| Type | Effect | Bonus per level |
|---|---|---|
| Range boost | Extends the station range coverage. Base radius is 100 ly | 10ly |
| Exploring boost | Increases exploring XP and cosmic dust gains when you warp into a system within the station range | 5% |
| Astronomy | Increases the chance of finding more bodies and more nodes on systems you discover within the station range | 6%/0.2% |
| Portal | Reduces the credit cost for traveling between stations | 5% |
Only the station with the highest Exploring level inside the range applies. Bonuses from multiple stations do not stack.
Only the squadron leader, or a rank with the power permission, can purchase upgrades.
Terraforming

Terraforming makes a system inhabited, which enables the market and wiring while you are in that system. It also affects gathering nodes:
- On a body that already has a node, it increases node quality by 20 points, up to a maximum of 100.
- On a barren body, it adds a gathering node with a random quality between 20% and 60%.
Node upgrade

Enhances an existing gathering node, or creates one on a barren body without nodes. The cost increases on every use. You can use this 10 times per space station.
Portal

Enabling a portal lets members travel between space stations that also have a portal enabled.
Remember
Travelling is not free. The base cost is 50m credits per travel, reduced by 5% per level of the Portal upgrade.
Both stations, origin and destination, need the portal enabled. Travel only works from one space station to another.
Transfer station

Space stations can be moved across the galaxy. You can transfer a space station to your current system for 10,000 PvP badges and 500k cosmic dust from the squadron.
Renaming a station
The pencil next to a station name renames it for 200k cosmic dust from the squadron bank. Like every other station action, it needs the leader or a rank with the Power permission.
TL;DR:
- Space Stations come from the Stellar Dock: unlock the four buildings, tax them into four parts, build the station, then claim a system with it.
- Every parked station gives the whole squadron 5% more income and XP, everywhere, and they add up.
- Station range sets the radius where the Exploring and Astronomy bonuses apply.
- Terraforming enables the market and wiring, and improves or creates gathering nodes.
- Portals need to be enabled on both the origin and the destination station.
