The Premium Store

Stellar Odyssey is free to play and is built by two people. What the Premium Store brings in pays for the servers it runs on and for the time that goes into the next thing being built.

This is an idle game, and progress here is measured in months. The whole game is open from the first day: there is no chapter, no zone and no system that waits behind a payment. What the store sells is time on that curve, and things to look at.

The three things sold for money

What What it is
VIP subscription A month or a year of the premium bonuses
Token and core packs Stellar Tokens and Quantum Cores in one purchase
Starter Pack A one time pack on the Steam realm, with tokens, cores, VIP months and pet food

Every price is shown in the store itself, in your own currency.

VIP

An active subscription raises what you earn across the game and stretches your offline-actions window from 24 to 72 hours, which is the part that matters most in an idle game: it decides how long the galaxy keeps playing while you are away.

VIP can also be paid with Stellar Tokens, at 100 for a month or 550 for six, and it can be gifted to another player. That route needs no money at all, which is what the next section is about.

Stellar Tokens

Tokens are the premium currency, and they come from two places: the store, or the Market, where players sell them for credits.

That second door is the important one. Tokens are tradable, so a player who never spends anything can earn credits in game, buy tokens from another player and get exactly the same VIP, the same boosts and the same cosmetics. And it works in both directions: somebody who buys a token pack and sells it is putting those tokens into the galaxy's economy and getting credits back for them.

What tokens buy:

Spent on Cost
VIP subscription 100 for a month, or 550 for six
Global Boosts Per purchase, and they apply to every active player
Offline window extension 1 token per minute added to your window
Permanent market access 500, trades from anywhere without an inhabited system
Extra Laboratory queue slot 300
Username rename 50, and the first one is free on the Steam realm
Cosmetics Each one has its own price

The offline window extension raises how long your battling and gathering keep running while you are away. It moves the limit, it does not add rewards on top of what those actions already give.

Ship skins, engine effects, chat icons and colours, profile cards, backgrounds and badges are cosmetic. They change how you and your ship look in space, in the chat and on your profile, and that is all they do: no stat, no bonus, no shortcut.

Quantum Cores

Cores go into Technology. Everyone earns them hourly just by having an account, and the store sells more of them.

A Technology boost is one multiplier among many. It applies on top of the levels, gear and skills you built by playing, and it sits next to the bonuses from your squadron, your base, your pets, your dungeon runs and the global boosts, none of which cost money. Cores get you to that one multiplier sooner. They do not make it bigger.

What money does not buy

  • Content. There is nothing to unlock, so there is nothing a payment unlocks.
  • A ceiling. Every cap in the game is the same for everyone, and purchases move you along a curve, never past its end.
  • A place at the top. The rankings are decided by everything you have levelled, and no single stat carries a player there.

TL;DR:

  • Everything premium can be reached with credits earned in game, through the Market.
  • VIP costs 100 tokens a month and raises your gains and your offline window.
  • Cores speed up Technology, cosmetics change how you look, neither one raises a limit.
  • Buying anything is optional, and it is what keeps the servers on.
