Companions
Companions are collectible creatures that hatch from eggs. Each one boosts an activity, and the boost grows as it levels up.
Pets are a separate system.
Families
There are eight families of four species each. Each family is tied to an enemy type and its eggs only drop from that enemy, so what you find depends on the body type you battle on.
Hatching an egg costs companion points. Your first hatch is free.
Xenobiology
Each family boosts one activity:
| Family | Bonus |
|---|---|
| Miners | Gathering yield |
| Glacials | Gathering XP |
| Scorchers | Battling XP |
| Brutes | Battling credits |
| Machiners | Crafting XP |
| Toxoids | Crafting scrap |
| Dusters | Cosmic dust |
| Spectres | Exploring XP |
- Every level a companion gains adds to its family's bonus. A freshly hatched companion adds nothing yet.
- Only the highest level copy of each species counts.
- A family's bonus stops growing once its four species reach the level cap.
- It counts your whole collection, not only the equipped companions.
- It does not apply to dungeons or galaxy bosses.
Slots
Three companions can be displayed: one main and two secondary. The main one also shows as the floating companion, on your player card and on your public profile. Equipping is free and has no cooldown.
The floating companion can be dragged anywhere, closed, and brought back from the Slots tab.
